Why people come to us

You already know what you don’t want, and so do we.

These are the four things we hear on almost every call.

01

“I want to go. I just don’t want to go alone.”

Most of our travellers book solo or with one friend. Nobody arrives as the odd one out, because almost everyone is in the same position.

“I don’t have forty hours to plan it.”

Route, accommodation, transport, local guides, activities, the day-to-day running of the trip. That’s our job. You book your flights and turn up.

02
03

“I’m not getting on a fifty-seat coach.”

Groups are 8 to 16 people. You’ll know everyone’s name by the second day, and you can actually talk to the guide.

“But who else is going to be on it?”

This is the question nobody else answers. We do, and it’s the reason the rest of the trip works.

What actually makes the difference

We curate the group, not just the itinerary.

Before anyone is confirmed on a trip we have a call. It isn’t a screening and it isn’t a sales pitch. We’re working out how you like to travel, what you want out of the trip, your pace, and what kind of people you’d get on with.

Then we put the group together on purpose. That’s the whole difference between a package holiday with strangers and two weeks with people you’ll travel with again.

The itinerary is the easy part. The group is what you’ll remember.

Being honest about it

This suits some people and not others.

We’d rather you worked that out here than on day three of a trek.

You’ll fit right in if…

  • You travel regularly but package holidays leave you cold
  • You’d pick the experience over the five-star hotel
  • Hiking, trekking, surfing, yoga, being outside — that’s your kind of day
  • You want local food, local people and local places, not a coach window
  • You want structure, but not every minute of it planned
  • You’re comfortable travelling internationally, alone or with a friend

Probably not for you if…

  • You want a resort, a sun lounger and room service
  • You want every hour of every day fixed in advance
  • You’re looking for the cheapest possible way to see the country
  • You’d rather not share the experience with anyone new
  • You’re under 18 — our group trips are adults only

If the last one is the only one that applies, a private trip is probably your answer.

How booking works

Five steps, and only one of them is on you.

Step 01

Book a free call with us

Choose a date and time that suits you, enter your details and hit schedule. No worries, it’s just a chat to get to know each other.

Step 02

Secure your place

If after the call it’s a good fit and you want to book, we send a payment link to hold your spot with a 30% deposit. The full itinerary and all the details follow straight after.

Step 03

Meet the group

Everyone on the trip goes into a WhatsApp group before departure. By the time you land, nobody is a stranger.

Step 04

Pre-departure

A few days before departure we do a video call to make sure everyone is ready to go.

Step 05

Travel

When you land at the destination, we’ll be waiting for you. Let the adventure begin!

Before you book

The questions we get asked most.

Do I need someone to travel with?

No. Most people who join a Nowa trip book on their own or with one friend. The group is put together with that in mind, so travelling solo is the norm rather than the exception.

How old is everyone?

Typically between 25 and 45, but there’s no age limit. If you’re 52, active and up for it, you’ll fit the group. Our scheduled group trips are adults only — under-18s can travel with us on a private trip.

How active are the trips?

Active, not extreme. Expect walking, hiking, water activities and full days rather than technical mountaineering. Every trip has a detailed itinerary so you can see exactly what each day involves before you commit, and you can always ask us on the call.

Are flights included?

International flights aren’t included. Everything on the ground is: accommodation, transport, local guides, the activities in the itinerary and our support throughout. Leaving flights out means you fly from wherever you like, at the price you like. If the trip requires domestic flights, these are included.

Do I have to share a room?

The standard price is based on double/twin shared accommodation, which is also how people end up getting to know each other. If you’d rather have your own room, there’s a single supplement for each destination, listed on the trip above.

How do you decide who goes in a group?

Through the call we have with you before you’re confirmed. We ask about your travel style, your pace, what you want out of the trip and the sort of people you enjoy travelling with. Then we build groups that are likely to genuinely get on. It’s the part of the job we care about most.

What if a group trip isn’t for me?

Easy! Don’t book one. We offer two other services: a personalised travel plan if you want to travel independently with our research behind you, or a private trip built and managed entirely around you, your group and your needs.

How do I pay?

A 30% deposit secures your place after the call, and the balance is paid before departure. We’ll send the payment link and the exact dates in writing so nothing is verbal.
